ALTER-ECO: Innovative employment model for migrants and refugees

Solution: Alter Eco, a digital platform cooperative that connects migrants with families in need of household services, transforming informal jobs into dignified and safe opportunities. Owned by migrants and refugees. Community ties.

Pilot: 9 months, 60 immigrant workers in Chile, Argentina and Mexico. Hosted by Fundación Gastronomía Social.

MIA LATAM: Financial inclusion tools for migrant women

Systemic Problem: Migration is highly feminized, yet, scarcity of financial solutions designed for women migrants, and lack of coordination. This results in high informality & poverty.

Solution: MIA Latam, an ecosystem for education, assistance, and empowerment, leveraging technological tools. Women migrants in Latam achieve economic independence.

Pilot: 6 months, 100 women, Colombia. MVP for the tech platform.

RECONOZCO: Skills recognition system

Scope: Latin America

Systemic Problem: Growing gap between skills, knowledge & experience and the job market, especially for migrants. Very low rates of official degree validation.

Solution: A regional benchmark system for skills validation and transfer. AI-assisted platform. Network of partnerships. Long term narrative change through personal recognition of the value of existing knowledge.

Pilot: 8 months, 200 migrants, Colombia. Hosted by Fundación Comparte.

WORKMATCH: Bridging migrant talents to opportunities

Scope: Europe

Systemic Problem: Across Europe, migrant and refugee employment efforts remain fragmented, short-term, and inconsistent. Newcomers encounter disconnected services; NGOs, employers, and public services work in silos. No shared standards, digital infrastructure, or collaboration models exist to help innovations travel across geographies.

Solution: A replicable employment ecosystem model by co-creating  and testing: an Inclusive Employment Toolkit (standards, templates,  collaboration routines), a digital journey tracker across three NGOs, an Action Hub in the UK that convenes NGOs, employers, public bodies, and newcomers in coordinated service delivery.

Pilot: 10 months, UK (test site), Finland + Romania (co-design & testingpartners). Hosted by Refugee Employment Network.
