Mexico City and UNAM: a strategic setting for the Festival
November 5–6, 2025 – Faculty of Law, UNAM, Mexico City
Mexico City provided an ideal setting for the Festival: it is a cultural, academic, and social hub with significant influence throughout Latin America, as well as a key point in Mexico's migration dynamics. Its diversity and capacity to bring together government actors, civil society organizations, academia, businesses, and migrant communities allowed conversations about human rights, innovation, and mobility to unfold from a broad, timely, and deeply regional perspective.
With over a century of history, the UNAM Faculty of Law has been the stage for fundamental debates on justice, equality, and Mexico's role in the world. Holding the Festival in a space with this cultural and institutional legacy underscored the importance of situating conversations about migration in places where ideas about the country and its future are shaped.
