In recent decades, Latin America has become a vibrant area of intraregional migration, as well as return migration in some countries.

Currently, there are problems that detract from the process and unnecessarily endanger people on the move. Furthermore, the political climate and widespread polarization in society are symptoms of something deeper.

Why does this happen?

  • Isolation and intense specialization.
  • Lack of connection between main actors.
  • Outdated policies, systems and processes.
  • Resistance to innovation in the sector.
  • Perception of migrants as objects
    of compassion, rather than agents of change.
